Unknown Crete Village Life Coach Trip *

The most representative of the island the excursion to the unknown Crete, is a very interesting and complete round trip. Driving the direction South-East we cross the fertile wine plain of Peza, and make our first stop in Thrapsano, where the famous pottery art of Crete has been flourishing for centuries. We have our second refreshing break on the southern slopes of the Dikti mountain, in the picturesque village Ano Viannos.  Heraklion Market City Shopping Tour

Here we offer you an interesting, relaxed and shorter excursion at a friendly price. We visit the market of Heraklion which is held at Saint Anna in the district of Pateles and where we will stay about 2 hours. We have all the time to see up close the stands of the vendors, including a wide range of farming products: fruits and vegetables cultivated in the rich Cretan soil,as also clothes, underwear and household products with very attractive prices. Departure will be again from the square of Freedom at a beforehand agreed time.  Chrissi Island Boat Trip  *

This tour will take us to the southern east part of Crete at Ierapetra, from where, we take a one hour boat trip to the islet of Chrissi. Chrissi island, the golden island, (a reference description to the fantastic white sand beaches found there made of billions of tiny sea shells which diffuse an airy glow during the night) is the southernmost tip of Europe with a vegetation near to tro-pical and a beautiful cedar tree forest amongst the sand dunes; probably the last existing in Europe. The island is now under protection and declared as a national park. Thus it is no longer inhabited as in the Minoan, Roman and Byzantine era when the main source of income was fishing, salt export and the export of porfira a scarlet dye produced from shells for the cloaks of Europe's royalty. Later pirates forced the inhabitants to flee Chrissi for safety in Crete and used the island as a hide-out. Many pirate and merchant ships have sunk in the area; silent witnesses of the turmoil of this savage era. Before we leave this beautiful islet there will be plenty of time to explore the interesting ruins, sunbathe on the white beaches, have lunch and swim in the crystal clear waters. We begin the fishing in the open golf of Agios Nikolaos where you have the possibility to catch one of the 893 species of fish that habituate the eastern Mediterranean.  Walk Into Nature Day  *

Welcome to a relaxed, enjoyable half day trip. We start our voyage from the village of Mirtia, situated in the region of Skalani a few miles outside Heraklion. Mirtia is the birthplace of our well known Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis. At Mirtia we have some free time to start the day with a nice cup of coffee at the small centre for the village before we start our descend in the gorge of Skalani. This is a very easy hike of about 2 and a half hours ideal for the whole family in the wonderful and green path of the gorge. As we hike down the path we are followed by a small stream of water and we can admire some of the beautiful local plants and flowers. We pass also an old watermill used by the farmers but now a ruin.

At the end of the gorge we take the bus again for Archanes. Archanes have been built at the foot of mount Giouhtas by Minoans. There is a remains of Minoan Villa. The most interesting artifacts, found during archaeological excavations, can been see in Archanes Archaeological Museum.

Giouhtas Mountain, from ancient times was a sanctuary place. Under the legend, The superior Greek's God Zeus was burred here-that's why mountain's shape is looks like a man profile, lying on the pillow. Archanes is an award-winning traditional village of Europe with a wonderful architecture, traditional coffee houses and old churches. After a little walk around the village we will have a lunch at traditional tavern (lunch not included in the price).  Adventure Gorge Walking Tour

The Aposelemis Gorge is above Analipsi East of the capital Heraklion. Best described as an eco time capsule the gorge host medicinal plants, wildflowers, goats, birds of prey and magnificent landscape dating back to the Neolithic times. This 12 km walk is a challenging canyon along the riverbed, in the early spring rain water slowly runs along the watercourse. The gorge is smooth and rough terrain in parts its welcoming and not a difficult appeal. The ever changing colours of the gorge no mater what time of the year from the spring flowers, to the evergreen shrubs and trees along with the distinctive rock formation and river boulders create a relaxing appeal to the walk. The spring and summer flowers and flora many of these plants are indigenous to Crete can be found along the tour. The rich soil and spring rain insures that there is ample water for the plants to burst into life for mother natures colure-inspiring displays.

The birds of prey like the Gypattus barbatus-Bearded Vulture can be seen drifting on the warn air currents above the gorge, there are many other species of birds, so we are bound to be able to see some of the bird wildlife on Crete. The famous Crete goats are free to roam the gorge, noted for there playful instinct we can often see them playing along the high walls of the gorge. When we reach the base of the gorge, we walk along to Zorbas Taverna for a well-earned BBQ, with small Meze's Greek Salads local cheeses, and plenty of village wine and raki. Day Tour Hiking on Crete (Skalopatia): an area full of wine ranks and olive fields. We will reach an old Venetian bridge. 500 meters, walk views over the gorge. After our descending walk, to the water lake. Surrounded  by trees, spotting the first turtle. Following the river viewing the beautiful rock formations and after a few kilometers we will walk through a jungle area.  lots of different plants, flowers, and herbs, bamboo and oleanders here. Between the sandstone, you are able to find many fossils. After our lunch, we will continue to walk uphill. You will be able to visit a deserted old church among the way. Our hiking tour will lead us next through field with many fences; these are here for sheep and goats. We will have to open and close many fences, because we do not want the sheep or goats to escape! Visiting Heraklion local market we are able to learn all about the different ingredients that make up the Cretan cuisine, vegetables herbs and fine produced wines from Crete, we continue onto the fish market. We visit the pastry makers bakery for a demonstration in Cretan delicacies, selecting from pastries for dessert. In the afternoon, we return to Analipsi Village taverna, to start the preparation of our dishes. The instructors provide a full lecture on scuba diving; we then begin the basic photograph course on the techniques of under water photography. We begin the day,s diving instruction in a swimming pool to the proficiency course standards passing the lessons. Boarding the boat, we travel to the location off the beach. Each diver has two professional diving instructors assigned to each dive. The instructors assist with taking wonderful photos of the marine life. Starting our adventure we continue our journey to the plateau of Katharo passing through the biggest Forest on the island, where the roads are non-existent and the mountains reach a height of 1.500 metres and there will be a refreshment stop at a local kafeneon somewhere in this wilderness!! We then continue through the dirt tracks, goat valley and across rivers, this is where the journey really gets exiting. Our next stop gives you the opportunity to take photographs from a helicopter view of the Lassithi Plateau from here we drop down to the plateau for your BBQ lunch, with unlimited wine. After lunch we take you back in time on a visit to the Eco Village where you can see local crafts being made as they were in olden times. Our next stop is Zeus cave where mythology says that Zeus, the father of all the gods was born, there is a 4 Euros entrance fee and walking shoes are recommended. Then on to Lassithi plateau where time has virtually stood still. The local people are mainly farmers. You will also see many donkeys at work. We then make our way to Seli, where once again we have an opportunity to take photos of this unique scenery. As we continue driving, we reach the village of Krassi, which is famous for a 2,000-year-old plane tree and also has a natural spring water source.  Day Skydiving

A full day out Skydiving on Crete. Fully trained skydiving instructors shall take you on an unforgettable journey into the skies of Crete. Beginning with a drive to the south coast near to Mires, to the aerodrome of Timbaki. The instructor undertakes a full program of training, and then it is off into the Cretan Sky. After clearance from airport control to we take off, reaching our altitude 12500 ft the instructor completes the final checks and hooks you onto the Tandem harnesses then jump out of the plane. Free falling the instructor guides both of you before pulling the ripcords to releasing the main parachute. Slowly drifting towards the airport the instructor lands, you back safely on the ground.  Flying Lesson Day

A Flying lesson at Heraklion airport Crete. A special gift in a Cessna airplane starting with a flight pre training course then a pre flight check. After clearance from airport control, the training instructor taxies to the runway then up into the air. As the pilot turns South over the agricultural regions you are given instruction in flying with you at the control. Landing back at Heraklion you are presented with a certificate.
